Description

Es Red by Gianfranco Fino is a Primitivo produced in the Manduria area of Puglia, from vineyards cultivated using the bush-trained method on red soil. The Mediterranean microclimate, influenced by the sea breezes of the Ionian Sea and the warm Apulian sun, allows for the production of a wine of extraordinary concentration and depth.

Harvesting is carried out manually with careful selection of the grapes, which are transported in refrigerated trucks to preserve their integrity. After destemming and gentle crushing, the must macerates with the skins for two or three weeks in stainless steel tanks, with temperature control and daily pump-overs. Pressing is done with a vertical hydraulic press, followed by a maturation of about nine months in wood and a further aging in the bottle for forty-eight months, which enhances its complexity.

Visually, it presents with an intense ruby red color. The bouquet is wide and deep, with intense aromas of stewed fruits and spices, accompanied by elegant balsamic notes and hints of leather and tobacco. On the palate, it is warm and vigorous, with great structure and extraordinary persistence that underscores its power and elegance.

It pairs perfectly with red meats and blue cheeses.
