Description
Negroamaro Rosone di Mottura is a red wine of great intensity produced with Negroamaro grapes grown according to the ancient alberello system. The name of this wine, together with the iconic label, is inspired by the rose window, the famous circular motif that decorates the facades of churches in Puglia. The vineyards are located on calcareous and clayey soils, benefiting from a climate with mild winters and hot, dry summers.
The manual harvest, carried out when slightly overripe during the month of September, ensures an optimal selection of the grapes. The vinification follows a careful path, aimed at preserving the structure and typicality of Negroamaro. After fermentation, the wine ages for 8-10 months in French oak barriques, enriching itself with aromatic complexity and reaching a balanced robustness.
It has an intense red color with garnet reflections and a notable glyceric density. On the nose it offers a fruity bouquet with hints of Mediterranean scrub and tertiary notes of vanilla and cloves, typical of the long aging in wood. On the palate it is full-bodied and robust, with a soft and persistent finish that gives a perfect balance and a long pleasantness.
Perfect with grilled red meats, stews and mature cheeses.
