Description
Leone De Castris' Five Roses was the first rosé in Italy. Since then the Apulian rosatist tradition has been recognized as one of the most appreciated in the national territory.
It is mainly produced with Negroamaro grapes and with Malvasia Nera di Lecce grapes, harvested in the first ten days of September. After a soft crushing-destemming, the grapes are subjected to skin maceration for a few hours at a temperature of 7-10 ° C. It follows the extraction of the must and the subsequent fermentation at a controlled temperature of 18-20 ° C. The wine ages for 2 months in steel and at least 1 month in bottle, before being released on the market.
It is characterized by a bright cherry pink color. The nose opens with fruity hints of cherry and wild strawberry. On the palate it proves fresh and soft, with a long persistence.
Excellent with risotto and boiled meats, it is ideal with fish and white meat dishes.
