Description
The Negroamaro Liala di Borgo dei Trulli was born in vineyards located in the municipality of Guagnano, in the province of Lecce. The female name "Liala" means "night".
The grapes are harvested by hand in the second half of September, as soon as the grapes begin drying on the vine. The grapes are destemmed and vinified with whole berries. The alcoholic fermentation takes place in thermoregulated steel tanks and lasts 8-10 days thanks to the addition of selected yeasts. Malolactic fermentation is then induced, followed by the refinement of 70% of the wine in tonneaux and large barrels for 7-8 months.
Purple-red in colour, the nose reveals aromas of currants, cherries and black cherries in spirit, followed by hints of cinnamon and coffee. The sip is round and enveloping, with soft tannins and a persistent finish.
An excellent meditation wine, it also goes well with rich baked pasta and game.
