Description
Joseph Drouhin's Saint-Véran is a white wine produced in the southern part of Burgundy, bordering Beaujolais. It is made from Chardonnay grapes grown in several locations including Chânes, Chasselas, Davayé, Leynes, Prissé, Saint-Amour-Bellevue, Saint-Vérand and Solutré-Pouilly, on a unique terroir of Jurassic limestone.
The winemaking process involves the purchase of grapes and musts from partner producers, respecting strict quality protocols. The grapes are pressed with a pneumatic press, with the musts fermented for two-thirds in tanks and for one-third in oak barrels. The refinement then continues for a period of 6-10 months.
It has a golden hue with green reflections. On the nose it offers fresh aromas of well-ripened grapes, with delicate musky notes. On the palate it stands out for its pleasant roundness and a lively freshness with a beautiful taste persistence.
This white wine pairs perfectly with seafood, grilled fish, white meats and soft cheeses.
