Description
Reine Pédauque's Saint Romain comes from the appellation of the same name located in the heart of the Côte de Beaune, next to the village of Meursault. This white wine is the result of traditional winemaking, with grapes pressed immediately upon arrival in the cellar and alcoholic fermentation in thermoregulated stainless steel tanks, followed by 10 months aging in oak barriques with regular batonnage to gain depth and complexity.
The terroir of marl and limestone gives the wine unique characteristics, resulting in a pale yellow color with silvery reflections. The olfactory bouquet opens on an aromatic range of fresh, almost exotic fruits, with notes of tart white fruits followed by hints of vanilla.
On the palate, the attack is very fresh, with a pleasant roundness. The mid-palate shows a mineral character with flavors of flint and stone, closing on a lively finish with yellow fruits such as peach and pink grapefruit.
Its minerality pairs perfectly with fried, steamed or sauced fish or soft and creamy cheeses such as Camembert, Brillat-Savarin or Brie.
