Description

The Hortevie originates in Saint-Julien in the central belt of the Médoc region, characterized by a characteristic gravelly soil whose specificity is reflected beautifully in the wine.

It is produced from a remarkable percentage of Cabernet Sauvignon which is accompanied by gradually smaller quantities of Merlot, Petit Verdot and Cabernet Franc. It is obtained by fermentation completed in steel tanks at controlled temperature. After the malolactic fermentation in the tank, this wine rises in French oak barrels for 12-14 months.

Ruby red in color, the nose highlights hints of black cherry, wet earth and licorice. On the palate it is medium-bodied, with a nice softness.

It goes well with all types of meat dishes. It goes perfectly with truffle and Asian cuisine.
