Description
Created in 1983, Les Fiefs de Lagrange, is much more than a second wine produced by Château Lagrange, a 3ème Grand Cru Classé located in the Saint-Julien appellation. This wine comes from young vineyards with an average age of 30 years, grown on soils of fine gravel for the Cabernet Sauvignon and clay for some Merlots. The blend includes Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and a significant percentage of Petit Verdot, offering a dense and velvety structure.
Les Fiefs de Lagrange is characterized by its elegance, depth and intensity, with pleasantly soft tannins and a rich aromatic palette that includes notes of red fruit and spices. It is a wine that expresses its character early, allowing it to be appreciated when young, but also has excellent aging potential.
Les Fiefs de Lagrange presents itself with an intense visual luster, exhibiting a vibrant red hue that captures attention. This chromatic richness is a prelude to an equally intriguing olfactory bouquet, where the fragrances of red and blackcurrants intertwine, offering an aromatic complexity that invites tasting. On the palate, the wine immediately reveals its distinctive personality. Its structure is characterized by an enveloping roundness, which leads towards a full and harmonious tasting experience. The tannins, dense but finely coated, give the wine a velvety texture, balancing the intensity of the fruit with a tactile elegance.
As for culinary pairings, Les Fiefs de Lagrange, thanks to its structure and aromatic complexity, pairs well with robust dishes such as grilled red meats, roasts, mushroom dishes and mature cheeses. The richness of the wine will complement the depth of flavors in these dishes, while its tannic structure will balance the richness and texture of the foods.
