Description
Château Léoville Barton was once part of a much larger estate that also included today's Château Leoville Las Cases and Château Leoville Poyferre. The production style of the Château is traditional, as can be seen from the decision to keep the large wooden vats for fermentation.
The vinification of the grapes takes place at the Château Langoa Barton, located right in front of Château Léoville Barton. The grapes ferment in traditional large 200 hl wooden vats, followed by aging for about 20 months in French oak barrels (50% new wood).
In the glass the wine appears of a deep purple red, while on the nose there are aromas of violets, cilegie and blueberries, dark chocolate and a spicy note of cardamom. The taste is full-bodied, well structured, with a persistent and layered finish.
Ideal in combination with beef, lamb and noble poultry, for example with baked duck with seasonal vegetables.
