Description

The Saint-Georges-Saint-Émilion is produced by Château Cap Saint George, which is part of the Jean Philippe Janqueix domaines of Bordeaux.

The wine is a blend composed mostly of Merlot grapes with small additions of Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc. They are vinified at a controlled temperature in steel tanks. The malolactic fermentation takes place for 50% in wooden barrels. The wine is aged in wooden barrels for a few months.

Intense ruby red in color, it reveals intense aromas of black fruits such as morello cherry and blueberry on the nose. The sip is juicy and slender, medium-bodied and with firm tannins.

The wine goes very well with platters of fatty cold cuts, grilled red meats and semi-mature cheeses.
