Description
This great red wine is produced by Château Meyney in Bordeaux, precisely on the left bank, near the Gironde estuary, from the Cru Bourgeois. The first vineyards were planted by the monks in the second half of the 17th century. Today the Château belongs to the CA Grands Crus group and manages approx. 50 hectares of vineyards.
Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Petit Verdot grapes are vinified by parcel, first of all undergoing a pre-fermentation cold maceration. The alcoholic fermentation takes place in cement, while the malolactic fermentation is partly held in new barrels. Finally the wine ages in French oak barrels for 18-24 months.
Ruby red in color, the nose opens on aromas of plum, chocolate and smoky notes. The sip is full-bodied, fresh and elegant, with a long finish.
Ideal in combination with all types of meat, from pork to lamb, from beef to game. Also excellent to accompany mushroom-based dishes and with aged cheeses.
