Description
Château Ormes de Pez, located in the Médoc region since the 18th century, is located west of Saint-Estèphe, bordering the ancient village of Pez. This estate owes its name to a magnificent elm grove, now disappeared, and is the second property acquired by the Cazes family in 1939, immediately after Château Lynch-Bages.
The blend of grapes used for the production of this wine includes Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Merlot and Petit Verdot. The grapes are harvested manually, at different times depending on the grape variety. The winemaking follows traditional methods, with an average duration of 20 days for each tank. After malolactic fermentation the wine undergoes a period of refinement which will last for 15 months in French oak barrels. This meticulous process gives the wine its distinctive characteristics and complexity.
It has a deep garnet color and offers the nose fresh aromas of cherry and black fruits. This wine is characterized by well-structured and rounded tannins, with a persistent freshness.
This wine, with its complexity and balance, pairs beautifully with red meats and game, enhancing their flavors and creating a unique sensory experience.
