Description
If the Château Cos d'Estournel site has kept its original appearance, the rooms dedicated to winemaking have been completely renovated and operate according to the modern principle of vertical winemaking, operated by the force of gravity, without the support of pumps.
The vinification takes place in steel vats of varying capacity between 19 and 155 hl, where maceration on the skins at 7-9 ° C lasts for about a week. Subsequently the wine is aged in 60% new French oak barrels for about 18 months.
Of a deep purple red color, the nose reveals scents of preserved plums, mulberries, black currants and blueberries in addition to spicy and mentholated notes. The intense fruit of the sip is well balanced by dense tannins and remarkable freshness and brings with it a long persistence.
Ideal in combination with braised meats, stewed and roasted meats and noble poultry in the oven.
