Description
The Moulin de Sergolle Saint-Émilion Grand Cru is produced near Saint-Émilion where the old Sergolle Mill dominates a plateau of clayey and limestone soils with excellent exposure.
The grapes are harvested by hand when they are perfectly ripe and then selected in the cellar. Vinification takes place at controlled temperature with a 72-hour cold maceration followed by 18 months of ageing in French oak barrels.
Intense ruby red in colour, it offers delicate aromas of plum, cherry and blackberry, with light notes of leather, sweet tobacco and black pepper. Balanced and direct, it expresses the body of the fruit and a refreshing acidity for a soft tannin and a very persistent finish.
Elegant and deep, it is perfect for stewed or grilled red meats and pasta dishes based on mushrooms and truffles.
