Description
Château Laroque is a Grand Cru Classé witness to 9 centuries of production history that comes to life from a rocky-limestone plateau. Due to its size, it represents the largest wine estate in Saint-Emilion, once used as a defensive fortress.
It is made almost entirely from Merlot grapes, with a small share of Cabernet Franc. Winemaking involves filling the vats by gravity and the fermentation of whole grapes which takes place, parcel by parcel, in small concrete tanks. The refinement takes place for over a year, partly in barriques and partly in large French and Austrian oak barrels.
The wine has a dark ruby red hue and stands out for its perfect balance between intensity and concentration. It is expressed on notes of red fruits, supported by floral tones of violet and iris. On the palate it is soft and linear, with traces of salinity that give momentum and elegance to the overall tasting experience.
It pairs perfectly with meats such as beef and venison, enhancing the intense and rich flavors of these dishes.
