Description
The Saint-Émilion Grand Cru is produced by Château La Confession, which is part of the Jean Philippe Janqueix domaines of Bordeaux.
The wine is a blend composed mostly of Merlot grapes with a small addition of Cabernet Franc. They are vinified at a controlled temperature in steel tanks. Half of the malolactic fermentation takes place in new wooden barrels, half in old wooden barrels. The wine is aged in wooden barrels for 6 months.
Intense ruby red in color, it reveals intense aromas of ripe black fruits and light spicy notes on the nose. The sip is juicy and crunchy, medium-bodied and with firm tannins.
The wine goes very well with platters of fatty cold cuts, grilled red meats and semi-mature cheeses.
