Description
Château Trotte Vieille is a historic estate in Bordeaux, in Saint-Émilion, located on the right bank of the Gironde estuary. Its vineyards are part of a unique terroir, made up of an important layer of clay distributed over limestone rock, a rare phenomenon for this denomination.
It comes from a blend of Cabernet Franc, Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon grapes. The winemaking process is meticulous: the bunches of each plot are fermented in separate tanks. After an initial period of cold maceration, alcoholic fermentation takes place at low temperature. Once the malolactic fermentation is complete, the wine matures for 18 months in half new oak barrels.
Characterized by a brilliant ruby red colour, it reveals a floral and red fruit bouquet on the nose. On the palate it is a complex wine, with great personality, enriched by elegant tannins.
Among the most suitable pairings we find second courses based on red meat, beef or lamb first and foremost, as well as tasty game dishes.
