Description

Château La Mondotte, located on the clay-limestone plateau east of Saint-Emilion, extends over 4.5 hectares of vineyards, a true jewel that possesses all the characteristics of a Premier Grand Cru Classé. The particular terroir on which it is grown guarantees excellent water regulation and deep rooting of the vines.

It is based on a blend of Merlot and Cabernet Franc grapes. The harvest takes place manually in small boxes with multiple selection steps. Fermentation takes place in wooden vats at a controlled temperature for 28-35 days, depending on the vintage. Malolactic and aging take place in new oak barrels. The maturation time is 18 months.

It has an intense ruby red color. On the nose it presents delicate hints of red berry fruit and blackberries. On the palate it is fresh, linear, slightly peppery at the entrance, with a finish of notable structure.

It pairs perfectly with red meat dishes such as beef and lamb, but also with game dishes, especially deer and roe deer.
