BWW 2022 - Best Italy Wine Critic of the World
Luca Gardini
One of the flagship wines of the winery, from the harvest of overripe grapes. Very spicy and at the same time fresh on the nose, with touches of pomegranate and eucalyptus, in the mouth with taut notes and a deep and salty finish.

Description

The Ruché di Castagnole Monferrato Laccento belongs to the Bricco Montalbera Selection and comes from the vineyards located on the Montalbera hill that enjoy the best exposure to the sun, capable of producing unexpected results. This wine represents the highest quality level reached by the winery which allows it to collect recognition from critics. The name Laccento refers to Montalbera's desire to decisively place the emphasis on quality with this label.

It originates from a selection of the ripest Ruchè grapes from the best company vineyards. The vinification foresees that a part of the bunches is subjected to drying, while the remaining part is left to overripe directly in the vineyard. A prolonged maceration in contact with the marc will allow the aromatic richness of the grapes to be transferred to the mass. Ageing takes place in the bottle for at least 6–8 months.

It is characterized by a ruby red colour that turns to garnet after a few years of bottle ageing. The scent is intense and persistent, with references to rose petals and wild berries in jam. In the mouth it is warm and persuasive, elegant, of great agility.

Recommended in the company of a mushroom or stewed red meat risotto, it is perfect in combination with medium-aged cheeses.
