Description
The Rosso Piceno Colle del Buffo from the Terra Fageto company is an organic wine made from Montepulciano and Sangiovese grapes from the Campofilone area.
Near the coastal area, the vineyards are located at an altitude of about 250 meters above sea level on predominantly clayey soils. Harvested by hand in the first two weeks of September, the grapes ferment in stainless steel at a controlled temperature for at least 12-15 days. Spontaneous malolactic fermentation in steel follows until mid-November. The wine then ages 12 months in steel and 6 months in bottle.
Intense and impenetrable ruby red color, it releases hints of black cherry, black currant and blackberry, very dense and refined. On the palate it is warm and harmonious, with good intensity of cherry notes and with soft tannins, good structure and perceptible persistence.
Suitable for savory first courses based on red sauces, it is perfect for grilled red meats and aged cheeses.
