Description
This Rosso di Montalcino is produced by Podere Uccelliera. The cellar is located on the slope of the Castelnuovo dell'Abate hill overlooking the ancient volcano of Monte Amiata. The company was founded in 1986 by Andrea Cortonesi, the son of local sharecroppers, guided by his vocation for viticulture and his peasant education based on hard work and respect for the land. The vineyards, from predominantly clayey and sandy soils with a strong presence of loose skeleton, are located at an altitude of approximately 150, 250 and 350 meters above sea level in the Castelnuovo dell'Abate area. Voliero was born from the experience gained over the years by Andrea Cortonesi and from the desire to enhance the different terroirs of Montalcino.
It is made exclusively of Sangiovese grapes, which are vinified in thermo-controlled steel tanks with maceration for a few days. The wine subsequently matures for a few months in French and Slavonian oak barrels and finishes refinement with at least 4 months in the bottle.
Ruby red in color, it reveals a floral bouquet, with aromas of cherry and spices. The sip has fine tannins and a fresh and harmonious finish.
To pair with cured meat appetizers and grilled meat.
