Description
Rosso di Montalcino La Fuga comes from a single hectare of vineyard located in the youngest plot of the estate, south-west of Montalcino, on the historic side of Camigliano. This wine is the result of a careful choice of Sangiovese grapes, partly destined for the production of Brunello. The geographical position and the pedo-climatic characteristics of the area give the wine a unique and distinctive character.
Fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature, to guarantee the optimal expression of the grape variety. Maceration on the skins lasts about 12 days, a crucial phase for the extraction of colors and aromas. The evolution takes place for 12 months, of which 6 months in Slavonian oak barrels, with a further refinement of 2 months in the bottle.
It has a brilliant ruby red color. Intense notes of red fruits, vanilla, spices and aromatic herbs emerge on the nose, creating a complex and inviting bouquet. On the palate the wine reveals great drinkability and balance, accompanied by sweet and silky tannins. The taste persists for a long time in the mouth, leaving a light chocolate aftertaste.
Perfect in combination with robust first courses, feathered game, appetizers and cured meats.
