Description

Poggio Antico's Rosso di Montalcino is a wine that embodies the elegance and tradition of the Montalcino area. This wine is produced with Sangiovese grapes grown on deep, clayey soils with excellent water capacity. The production is 100% certified organic.

The fermentation of this Rosso di Montalcino takes place for 10 days in truncated cone-shaped steel and concrete tanks at low temperatures, not exceeding 23°C, followed by maceration on the skins for a further 5 days. Aging takes place for 12 months in large French oak barrels, allowing the wine to develop complexity and character before bottling.

This wine presents itself on the nose with notes of fresh red fruits and a subtle spicy nuance. On the palate it offers a balanced structure, with soft tannins and a lively acidity that accentuate its freshness. The finish is long and persistent.

This Rosso di Montalcino pairs perfectly with white meats, roasts and pasta dishes with meat sauces, enhancing the authentic flavors of Tuscan cuisine.
