Description
The Rosso di Montalcino of the Il Poggione winery comes from the company vineyards located in the Montalcino area and located at an altitude ranging from 150 to 450 meters above sea level
The grapes, entirely Sangiovese, are harvested only by hand. The phase of maceration and alcoholic fermentation by the action of indigenous yeasts takes place inside stainless steel containers, as well as malolactic fermentation. The refinement takes place in wood, using both 30 and 50 hl barrels and barriques, for a total period of 12 months.
At sight, ruby red. Its bouquet opens with notes of red fruit, cherry and black cherry, on a floral and toasted background. In the mouth it manifests a full, soft and dense body; the tannin is perceived in a precious garment of softness. Good persistence in closing.
To be combined with first courses with meat sauces, second courses with meat and game. Try it together with pappardelle with wild boar ragout.
