Description
Rosso di Montalcino Gauggiole by Castiglion del Bosco takes its name from the historic villa that overlooks the vineyards from which the grapes with which it is produced come, located between 250 and 300 meters above sea level
After the harvest, which takes place in mid-September, the 100% Sangiovese grapes are brought to the cellar where they are vinified in stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature, where they remain for 6 months. Subsequently, the wine ages a further 6 months in concrete vats, to complete its journey in the bottle, where it rests for 4 before being put on the market.
In the glass, the wine has a ruby red colour with purple hues. On the nose, there are hints of violet and cherry, in addition to citrus notes. The taste is full-bodied and well structured, with well-leveled tannins and a good persistence.
Ideal in combination with Tuscan dishes, from tagliatelle with wild boar to stewed stew with potatoes, to roast pork.
