Description
The Rosso di Montalcino Croce di mezzo comes from the historic Villa de la Croce region of Montalcino, from vineyards located at an altitude of 480 meters above sea level.
It is obtained solely from Sangiovese Grosso grapes, harvested exclusively by hand. Fermentation takes place at a controlled temperature with 10-15 day maceration on the skins. The wine matures for 9-10 months in oak barrels with further refinement in the bottle for at least 4 months.
It has an intense ruby red color, exposing to the nose an aromatic profile made of red berry fruit and tobacco. In the mouth it is fresh and structured, savory and persistent.
It is excellent in combination with roasts and stewed meats, but also pairs well with a platter of mature cheeses.
