Description
Rosso Conero Piancarda di Garofoli is born in vineyards located on the hills close to Monte Conero, in the province of Ancona.
It is produced with pure Montepulciano grapes, fermented with maceration on the skins for about 7 - 10 days. After malolactic fermentation, the wine ages in cask for 12 - 15 months, then rests in the bottle for a further 6 months before being marketed.
Piancarda is a bright ruby red wine. The bouquet is complex, broad, intense and very persistent, full of hints of ripe fruit, including notes of plum, morello cherry and nuances of jam. On the palate it reveals an important but pleasantly soft structure, with pronounced but elegant tannins. Overall it is a savory, warm and dry wine, which can age up to 4 years.
Perfect to accompany roast meats, it is recommended in combination with game dishes and well-aged cheeses.
