Description
Sangiovese Radici d'Italia by Terre Forti is a red wine produced in the vineyards of the hills and plains of Romagna, Italy. Composed mainly of Sangiovese grapes with the addition of other red varieties, the wine grows on medium and clay soils at an altitude between 0 and 200 meters.
The harvest is done both manually and mechanically towards the end of September. After destemming and pressing, the grapes undergo cold maceration for 8-10 days. Fermentation takes place in tanks at a temperature of 25-26°C for 8-10 days. After an initial racking, the wine partially undergoes malolactic fermentation and ages in steel tanks for a period of 3-6 months before bottling.
With an intense ruby red color with purple reflections, it offers lively fruity notes of dark cherries and plums to the nose. On the palate we find the same fruity intensity harmonized with slightly more savory nuances, supported by good acidity and silky tannins, with a balanced body and a persistent mineral finish.
It pairs beautifully with tomato-based dishes such as pasta and pizza, as well as red meats, game and cured meats.
