Description
The Godenza by Noelia Ricci is an elegant expression of Sangiovese from Romagna, coming from the Vigna Godenza, located on the hills of San Cristoforo in Predappio, at an altitude between 300 and 340 meters. The vineyards, planted in 1999 on ancient terraces, have their roots in soils of ochre clay and limestone marls, with a presence of sand, giving the wine character and territorial identity.
The harvest is done manually in the last week of September, with a selection of grapes in crates. The fermentation is spontaneous in temperature-controlled steel vats, with a long maceration on the skins of 45 days. Following that is the malolactic fermentation, without clarifications or filtrations, to preserve the varietal expression. The aging takes place for 12 months in raw concrete tanks, followed by at least 9 months of rest in the bottle.
With a bright ruby red color, on the nose it opens with intense aromas of cherry and berries, enriched by Mediterranean nuances and a delicate savory touch. The palate is juicy and pleasant, medium-bodied, with a fine tannic structure and a pronounced sapidity that provides balance and freshness.
It pairs perfectly with fish soup with tomato, pasta with meat sauce, cold cuts and salami, roasted and grilled meat, smoked fish, and vegetable risotto.
