Description
Marques de Riscal's XR Reserva organic red wine was born in Spain. The winery produces wines in the appellations of Rioja, Rueda and Castilla y León and was founded in 1858 by D. Guillermo Hurtado de Amézaga.
The wine consists exclusively of Tempranillo and Graciano grapes. The grapes are vinified in small wooden barrels. The wine is aged in American oak barrels for 24 months.
Intense ruby red in colour, the wine expresses itself on the nose with aromas of currant and blueberry, licorice and spices, with smoky and balsamic notes. The sip is powerful and fleshy, with a great structure and a fresh and persistent finish.
The XR Reserva goes well with stewed and grilled meats, lamb chops and noble poultry.
