Description
Marques de Riscal's Rioja Reserva was born in Spain. The winery produces wines in the appellations of Rioja, Rueda and Castilla y León and was founded in 1858 by D. Guillermo Hurtado de Amézaga.
The wine is made up of Tempranillo and Graciano grapes. The grapes are vinified in steel tanks at a controlled temperature for a maximum of 12 days. The wine is aged in American oak barrels for approx. 21 months, followed by 3 years in the bottle.
Dark ruby red in colour, the wine expresses itself on the nose with spicy aromas of licorice and cinnamon, as well as those of ripe fruit. The sip is fresh and structured, with rich and silky tannins and an elegant and persistent finish.
The Reserva goes well with both red and game stewed meats, grilled meats and roasts.
