Description
Cune Reserva is a red wine produced in the Rioja region, using mainly Tempranillo grapes with a small percentage of Garnacha Tinta, Graciano and Mazuelo. The grapes come from vineyards located in the villages of Rodezno, Villalba and Haro, at an altitude between 500 and 600 meters, on predominantly clay-limestone soils.
The alcoholic fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature, with different types of pumping over, delestage and pigeage. After fermentation, the wine undergoes a warm maceration and spontaneous malolactic fermentation. The refinement takes place in American and French oak barrels for 18 months, followed by further refinement in the bottle for more than 12 months in the cellars.
The wine has a garnet color with cherry red reflections. Aromas of berries, blackberries, cherries, strawberries and liquorice emerge on the nose, well integrated with spicy notes, vanilla and anise deriving from barrel aging. On the palate it is soft, with friendly tannins that give balance and roundness. The final note of acidity gives the wine a long persistence with a fruity aftertaste.
This wine pairs perfectly with fish, meat, cheeses and stews.
