Description
The Rioja El Rayo of Bodega Olarra was born in the prestigious Spanish wine region, in a cellar called the "Gran Catedral del Rioja" due to its imposing architecture.
The wine is made up of Tempranillo grapes with a small addition of Mazuelo y Graciano and Otras grapes. The grapes are vinified in steel. Malolactic fermentation takes place in new American oak barrels. The wine then ages for 15 months in the same containers.
Intense ruby red in colour, the wine expresses aromas of ripe black fruits and spicy notes. The sip is refined and elegant, with an excellent structure and a long persistence.
It goes well with baked pasta, stewed red meats and roasted game.
