Description
Cune Crianza is a red wine produced in the Rioja region, using mainly Tempranillo grapes with a small percentage of Garnacha and Mazuelo. The grapes come from vineyards located in the areas surrounding Haro and San Vicente, grown on predominantly clay-limestone soils, without the use of synthetic pesticides and herbicides.
Organic grapes are hand-picked and refrigerated for 24 hours to avoid oxidation, stabilize color and preserve aromas. Alcoholic fermentation takes place in small stainless steel and concrete tanks with indigenous yeasts, followed by a 24-hour cold maceration. After fermentation, the wine continues to macerate with the skins before being decanted. The malolactic fermentation takes place in cement and the refinement in American and French oak barrels for 24 months, with further refinement in the bottle for at least three years in the cellars.
The wine has a purple color. On the nose it offers an aromatic intensity of black fruits such as blackberries and blueberries. On the palate it has a soft entry, with a round and enveloping passage, silky tannins and a slightly acidic finish that gives freshness and a long fruity persistence.
This wine is ideal to enjoy with Mediterranean foods, pasta, rice, cured ham, cheeses and meats of all kinds.
