Description
Quiñon de Valmira is a great red wine from La Rioja, Spain, produced by the renowned Palacios Remondo estate. This wine is made primarily from Grenache grapes and a small percentage of other varieties, grown on a hundred hectares of vineyards located in La Rioja Baja, north of the town of Alfaro. The vines are planted on gentle hills with excellent south-east exposure, at a maximum altitude of 550 meters at the foot of the Yerga mountain.
The vinification takes place in oak vats, with regular punching down and the use of indigenous yeasts, while the 38-day maceration allows for complete extraction. The malolactic fermentation takes place spontaneously in the same oak vat, followed by 12 months of aging in vats to enhance the structure and complexity of this Rioja wine.
It has a rich and complex aromatic profile, with notes of ripe red fruit, sweet spices and a hint of minerality. On the palate it stands out for its elegance, depth and a perfect balance between acidity and soft tannins, offering a harmonious structure and a persistent finish.
Ideal to pair with red meat dishes, game and mature cheeses, it is a refined and versatile wine, suitable for different gastronomic occasions.
