Description
Contino Graciano is a red wine produced in the Rioja region, using Graciano grapes from proprietary vineyards. The vines are grown on clayey-limestone soils, with manual viticultural management which favors the quality of the grapes.
The harvest is manual and the grapes are collected in 300 kg boxes. After refrigeration, the grapes undergo a second selection to guarantee only the best quality. Fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature, followed by malolactic fermentation in barriques. The wine is aged for 15 months in French (60%) and American (40%) oak barriques, with further refinement in the bottle for 6 months.
The wine has an intense ruby red color. On the nose it offers complex aromas of red and black fruit, spicy notes and a light hint of vanilla. On the palate it is structured and harmonious, with well-integrated tannins and a long and persistent finish.
This wine is ideal to pair with red meats, game and mature cheeses.
