Description
Marques de Riscal's 150 Aniversario red wine was born in Spain. The winery produces wines in the appellations of Rioja, Rueda and Castilla y León and was founded in 1858 by D. Guillermo Hurtado de Amézaga.
The wine consists mainly of Tempranillo grapes. The grapes are vinified in steel tanks at a controlled temperature for a period of 14 days. The refinement of the wine takes place in French oak barrels for approx. 30 months, followed by 3 years in the bottle.
Dark ruby red in colour, the wine expresses itself on the nose with complex balsamic and toasted aromas, with notes of spices such as black pepper and cinnamon. The sip is powerful and well structured, with rich and silky tannins and a persistent finish.
The 150 Aniversario goes well with roast duck, red meats and aged cheeses.
