Description
Tras da Viña is a white wine produced by Bodegas Zarate in the Rías Baixas of Galicia, Spain. It is made with 100% Albariño grapes from a 50-year-old vineyard located on deep, granitic soil, rich in organic matter.
The harvest is manual and involves a careful selection of the grapes. The must ferments spontaneously in steel tanks and is racked after fermentation to separate it from the coarse lees. It then remains in contact with the fine lees for 24 months, without batonnage or malolactic fermentation. This long refinement on the lees helps to develop a unique aromatic complexity.
It has a bright greenish yellow color. On the nose it expresses itself with a deep minerality and notes of granite, enriched by hints of white fruit and light floral nuances. On the palate it is structured, fresh and complex, with a long persistence that reflects the character of the soil and the prolonged refinement.
This white wine pairs perfectly with steamed fish dishes or shellfish.
