Description
The red wine Due di Due Lupo Meraviglia is inspired by its label featuring the coat of arms of the city of Lecce, located just behind the "Masseria", which represents a wolf under an oak tree. Its name refers to the two grape varieties that compose it: Negroamaro and Malvasia Nera.
The winemaking method used in the production of this wine involves the use of modern Palmenti during the fermentation phase; these ancestral stone containers have been widely used in Salento for thousands of years. The use of these containers results in a higher concentration of dissolved oxygen in the wine, which allows for softer and more lasting tannins. The wine then ages for 3-6 months.
With an intense ruby red color, it reveals aromas of fruit, including jam, along with sweet and spicy notes on the nose. The palate is structured and concentrated, with round and silky tannins.
It pairs well with flavorful first courses, stewed and roasted red meats.
