Description
The Primitivo di Manduria Riserva di Notte Rossa comes from selected ancient vineyards located within the municipalities of San Marzano and Sava, in the province of Taranto, in the classic production area of the Primitivo di Manduria PDO. The soils on which the vineyards are planted are characterized by a mixture of red earth, rich in iron oxide, and are affected by high temperature ranges favorable to the optimal development of the grapes.
It is obtained exclusively from Primitivo clusters, harvested in the second half of September, once it has fully matured. After a maceration in contact with the skins of almost the whole mass, fermentation takes place with indigenous yeasts at a controlled temperature of 24 ° C. The wine ages in French and American fine oak barrels for 18 months.
Wine with a very intense ruby red color, it brings to the nose a rich and complex perfume, in which fruity hints of plum and cherry jam are clearly distinguished, which leave room for elegant notes of tobacco. On the palate it is full-bodied and soft, with a satisfying and persistent finish with tones of coffee, cocoa and vanilla.
Excellent in the company of game and red meats in general, it is ideal as a meditation wine.
