Description
Primitivo di Manduria is produced by the Masseria Surano winery located in Manduria, a historic Apulian city and cradle of Primitivo wine.
The wine is made exclusively from Primitivo grapes, which, after maceration on the skins for 12-15 days, are fermented in thermoregulated steel vats, with 3 daily pumping over. The wine then ages 12 months in oak barrels before bottling.
Intense ruby red in color, it reveals aromas of red fruits such as black cherries and plums, as well as spicy notes, tobacco, licorice and amaretto. The taste is full and full-bodied, characterized by elegant tannins.
It goes well with grilled or roasted red meats, with rich appetizers of cold cuts and cheeses and with rich legume soups.
