Description
The Primitivo di Manduria Riserva from Borgo del Mandorlo is an Apulian wine born in the provinces of Taranto and Lecce, where the Pliniana spring is found, a natural cave in which an almond tree has grown. These wines take their name from this magical place.
The grapes are harvested the first 10 days of September, and are then de-stemmed and softly pressed. The vinification lasts 12-15 days at a controlled temperature of 28 ° C and ends with an aging period of 24 months, of which at least 9 in wooden barrels.
In the glass the wine appears of an intense purple color. The nose releases pleasant hints of red and black ripe fruit, with final hints of sweet spices. On the palate it is warm, full-bodied, with soft tannins and excellent persistence.
Ideal with grilled and roasted meats as well as with aged cheeses.
