Primitivo di Manduria DOC Cotis 2019 PietraPura

Rock wine, or Cotis, from the ancient Salento dialect. A robust Primitivo produced with grapes that originate in the old vineyards of the Apulian PietraPura estate of the Tuscan Rocca delle Macie. Its production is handled by the oenologist of the Zingarelli family company, Luca Francioni.

Vinification of Primitivo grapes only takes place in red at controlled temperature, with maceration on the skins. It follows ageing of about 12 months in French oak barrels.

It is a wine with an intense ruby red colour with purple hints. Aromas of ripe cherry and plum blend in the nose with pleasant hints of cocoa and vanilla. It is a well-structured and warm wine, like the sun of Salento.

Recommended in combination with complex first courses, classic game recipes and red meats in general.
