Description
Joseph Drouhin's Pouilly-Vinzelles is a white wine produced in southern Burgundy, in the Mâconnais region, specifically in the communes of Vinzelles and Loché. This Chardonnay comes from vineyards located southwest of Mâcon, on a slope exposed to the morning sun, at an altitude of 250 meters. The vines grow on Jurassic clay-limestone soils, rich in iron oxide, which benefit from the influence of the nearby Solutré rock.
The vinification is done using grapes and musts selected from partner producers, respecting rigorous quality standards. The grapes go into a pneumatic press and the musts ferment for two thirds in tanks and for one third in oak barrels. The refinement then takes place for a period of 6-10 months, with decisions based on tastings and technical analysis.
It has a pale golden color with bright green reflections. On the nose it is very aromatic and intense, with hints of peach and white flowers. In the mouth it is broad, fresh and intense, with aromas of ripe grapes and notes of almond.
This white wine pairs perfectly with seafood, grilled fish, white meats and vegetable-based dishes.
