Description

Sandeman's Porto Tawny 20 Years belongs to the series of fortified wines with an indication of ageing and comes from the Portuguese Douro region.

This Porto is made from selections of Touriga Franca, Tinta Roriz, Tinta Amarela, Tinta Barroca and Tinto Cão grapes capable of ageing in wooden barrels to acquire greater concentration of fruit and flavour. The grapes are harvested by hand and fermented with maceration of the skins. The addition of alcohol makes it possible to obtain fortified wine that can be aged in the centuries-old Sandeman cellars in oak barrels.

With a colour that varies from ruby red to amber, it has an olfactory profile of yellow-fleshed fruits such as dried apricots, with honey, nuts and spices that finish a full and harmonious taste. Enveloping on the palate, it expresses the elegance of candied fruit with returns of cocoa and tobacco for a truly persistent sip.

Ideal served cold or with foie-gras, it also goes well with cheese quiche and desserts such as crème brûlée and tarte tatin.
