Description
The 10 year old Porto is produced by Quinta da Côrte which rises in the heart of the Douro valley, one of the most suitable wine-growing areas in Portugal. The peculiarity of the soil of these lands, of schist matrix, also constitutes its strength, allowing to produce red wines and ports of great quality. Quinta da Côrte manages a vineyard area of 24 hectares.
This Porto is produced from Touriga Franca, Tinta Roriz and Tinta Amarela grapes. The vinification takes place in the traditional "lagares", granite vats in which the grapes are pressed with the feet, so as to allow a particularly soft and controlled pressing. The refinement takes place in old wooden barrels of 600 liters, the "pipas".
With a seductive and intense amber color with mahogany reflections, this Porto reveals a complex nose, characterized by aromas of dried and dehydrated fruit, figs, walnuts, almonds, candied orange, followed by toasted and ethereal notes. The sip is vigorous and structured, supported by a nice acidity and a very long finish.
Quinta da Côrte 10 year old Port goes well with fresh goat cheeses or saffron-flavored marinara risotto.
