Description

Porto Late bottled vintage Port (LBV) is produced by Quinta da Côrte, a company located in the heart of the Douro valley, one of the most suitable wine-growing areas in Portugal. The peculiarity of the soil of these lands, of schist matrix, also constitutes its strength, allowing to produce red wines and ports of great quality. Quinta da Côrte manages a vineyard area of 24 hectares.

This Porto is produced from grapes from old vines with an average age of 70 years, Touriga Nacional, Touriga Franca, Tinta Amarela, Rufete and Tinto Cão. As "Late bottled vintage Port (LBV)" the 2014 vintage is bottled in 2018. The vinification takes place in the traditional "lagares", granite vats in which the grapes are pressed with the feet, so as to allow a controlled pressing. The refinement takes place in old Portuguese chestnut wood barrels of different capacities.

With a seductive and intense ruby color, Porto Late bottled vintage Port (LBV) reveals hints of ripe black and red fruit, blueberries, currants and cherries, followed by menthol and cocoa notes, which return in the full-bodied and well-balanced sip , with a very long finish.

Quinta da Côrte's Porto Late bottled vintage Port (LBV) goes well with sheep cheeses, fruit tarts and dark chocolate.
