Description
Château La Conseillante took its name from its owner, Madame Conseillan, in the mid-18th century. The property was bought in 1871 by the Nicolas family, who have run it for 5 generations.
Vinification is carried out individually for each of the 18 plots in 18 steel vats where both alcoholic and malolactic fermentation take place. From 2010 it was decided to reduce the use of new wood, so the wine is aged in new French oak barrels for only 70% -85%.
It has a medium intense purple colour and a bouquet of violets, cherries, dark chocolate, cinnamon and liquorice. The palate is dry and elegant, with fine tannins and a long, fresh and fragrant finish.
Ideal with savoury dishes based on red meat and game. Particularly suitable for stews with herbs and spices.
