Description
Château L'Évangile is located in the prestigious appellation of Pomerol, on the Right Bank of the Bordeaux wine region, surrounded by illustrious neighbors such as Vieux Château Certan, Château Pétrus and Château La Conseillante. The company's history dates back to 1741, when it was known as Fazilleau. Over the centuries, the Château changed owners until its acquisition in 1990 by the Domaines Barons de Rothschild, the same owners of Château Lafite Rothschild.
Château L'Évangile's average annual production is approximately 5,000 cases. L'Évangile is known for its blend dominated by Merlot (80%) with a component of Cabernet Franc (20%), aged in 70% new oak barrels for 18 months.
L'Évangile as a wine with extraordinary density, while maintaining a certain lightness thanks to its freshness. The purity of the fruit is remarkable, as are the velvety and sensual textures that distinguish it. Explosive notes of violet, truffle, plum liqueur and cherries, with hints of dark chocolate, make it an exceptional wine. This richness is balanced by a liveliness that invites tasting, without any hesitation in enjoying it fully.
Château L'Évangile pairs perfectly with rich red meats, game, intense mushroom dishes, mature cheeses and dishes with thick sauces, enhancing both the food and the wine thanks to its structure and complexity.
