Description
Pomerol is produced by Château La Croix S. Georges, which is part of the Jean Philippe Janqueix domaines of Bordeaux.
The wine is a blend composed mostly of Merlot grapes with a small addition of Cabernet Franc. They are vinified at a controlled temperature in 90 hl open wooden barrels. Half of the malolactic fermentation takes place in wooden barrels. The wine is aged in wooden barrels for 5-6 months.
Intense ruby red in color, it reveals intense aromas of cooked black fruits, ripe plums with salty notes on the nose. The sip is fresh, medium-bodied and with good persistence.
The wine goes very well with red meats and stewed game as well as aged cheeses.
